Well our famed experimental social psychologist, Robert Cialdini, who wrote the classic Influence is back. This book can be seen as a prequel to the previous one. In Influence he covered 'the factors that cause one person to say yes to another person and the techniques that most effectively use these factors to bring about such compliance'. In this book he covers how to 'prime people to say yes even before they are asked.'

The book starts with a discussion about Attention and its importance in influence. Moves on to association, its importance and its mechanics. And, ends with best practices regarding the use of 'pre-suasion' and influence techniques, and how to extend their impact.

When the author of a bestseller classic takes more than 30 years to come back with a prequel you know its not the typical milking of cash cow that is prevalent in the industry.

As the Noble laureate Richard Thaler put it "he's done it again, showing us the power of the moment before an attempt to persuade." The book, again, is a must read for anyone in any position of influence - whether it is a marketeer, a business leader or even a mother at home trying to influence the little one.
